The primary function of this position, through tactical and strategic analysis is to produce, prepare and disseminate a variety of information relevant to actual or anticipated local criminal activity in order to increase operational effectiveness, prevent crime and apprehend suspects.
Specific duties include:
1. Provide analytical support within the mandate of the Lloydminster Municipal RCMP Detachment.
2. Analyze data to identify and develop intelligence products that will include trends of places and people of crime.
3. Prepare high-effective briefs, reports, statistics, and other communication material to make recommendations with supporting evidence, for the purpose of identifying or illuminating the profile of criminal individuals or networks.
4. Establish and maintain strong working relationships and a network of sources and
contacts to facilitate the appropriate exchange of information and intelligence across jurisdictional boundaries with the end-product being more frequent criminal or threat identification.
5. Provide expert advice on complex issues through tactical and strategic analysis focused on criminal activity.
6. Represent the Lloydminster Municipal RCMP Detachment as an expert resource by preparing and/or conducting presentations and lectures at seminars, conferences and training courses.
7. Assist in the development of the Crime Reduction Strategy programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree, preferably in criminology, criminal justice, sociology or urban planning
- A minimum of five (5) years experience in policing or government environment that demonstrates increasing responsibility in crime analysis and research.
- PROS User Certificate User Records Management Course.
- Must be able to obtain (and retain) a RCMP issued Top Secret Security Clearance.
