Description

The Town of Kindersley is seeking to fill one Permanent Full-Time Recreation Labourer position to join the Recreation Team at the West Central Events Centre. This position will report directly to the Manager of Recreation.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
As an essential member of the Recreation Department, this position is primarily responsible for, but not limited to, maintaining the West Central Events Centre (WCEC) and assisting in operational facility maintenance. The primary responsibilities will include ice maintenance and the operation of a Zamboni, carrying out operational maintenance duties alongside the Facility Supervisor, event preparation and deconstruction, maintaining the appearance of as well as driving customer experience in the WCEC. This position will work closely with the Facility Supervisor to ensure operational excellence within the WCEC. The successful candidate will possess a diverse knowledge of carpentry skills and will be mechanically adept. Previous exposure to refrigeration or boiler systems is considered an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS:
-    Previous experience in construction/building repairs considered an asset
-    High school diploma/GED; relevant post-secondary education preferred
-    Valid Class 5 Drivers License
-    Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
-    Ice maintenance knowledge an asset
-    Standard First Aid & CPR training an asset
-    Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
-    Strong attention to detail

This is a union position. Wage and benefits will be based on qualifications and in accordance with the current CUPE Local 2740 contract. A typical work week will consist of 40 hours, including shift work, call outs, holidays and weekends.
