POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a member of the major projects department, SHEQ group, you will be responsible for providing construction safety leadership at our northern mine sites including frequent visits to the construction sites, leading or supporting risk assessment activities, ongoing interaction with staff and contractors, participation in OHC activities, conducting workplace inspections, providing training as required, supporting hazard communication efforts, supporting Camecos internal audit and assessment processes, providing input on construction safety best practices to the major projects department and monitoring adherence to Camecos and construction contractors health, environment and safety plans, procedures and work instructions.
You will ensure Camecos construction safety, health and environment standards are consistently achieved. Although this position reports in to the Saskatoon based major projects department you will be based at site.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements of the position:
Diploma in occupational health and safety
Eight plus years of relevant work experience
Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
Saskatchewan Construction Safety Officer certification (or equivalent)
Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:
Canadian Registered Safety Professional certification
Construction trade
