Description

You will provide technical support to the organization, including but not limited to in-depth assistance with databases and networks. The purpose of this role is to translate business needs to technical solutions while applying best practices in IT security, governance and change management. This role is essential to ensure business continuity.

Key responsibilities include:

    Manage a network on various platforms and investigate and diagnose network problems
    Setup, configure and troubleshoot various makes and models of routers, VPNs and switchgears
    Administration and support of industrial automation and control systems servers, workstations and associated IT hardware including process control and security services, daily systems backups, anti-virus updates and operating system patching
    Administration and support of industrial automation and control systems network infrastructure including Ethernet communications and associated network hardware, fiber optic and UTP infrastructure
    Plan, develop and implement procedures and facilitate upgrades to system software and hardware

Qualifications

    A bachelors degree in computer science or a technical diploma in an IT related discipline
    Computer Engineering Technology (CET) diploma and Microsoft A+ certification is preferred
    Experience in any combination of industrial automation and control systems, IT LAN administration and software and server administration
    Experience with Microsoft SQL Server database
    Proficient in Microsoft Office 10, Android, Blackberry and Apple smartphone configuration
    Proficient in firewall setup and security applications including anti-virus software
    RS Logics & Rockwell automation experience is an asset
    Work experience in  sawmill technologies and processes is an asset
