Duties and responsibilities:
As a member of the New Opportunities for Work team this role is responsible for community focused activities including the development, coordination and monitoring of participant work experience placements. Duties include:
- Initiate, build and maintain positive relationships with business owners, human resource professionals, hiring, managers, community based organizations, referring agents, families and others
- Initiate and maintain positive communications with support teams, referring agents, families and others
- Based on individual needs, develop and coordinate workplace tours and work experience placements
- Provide onsite support/ including job coaching to individuals engaged in work experience placements and their employers.
- Promote the NOW program to other agencies/groups for the purpose of generating referrals.
Qualifications:
- Relevant post-secondary education in Human Services or Marketing and 2 years related experience.
- Job Finding Club, Reality Therapy, Job Coaching
- Coaching skill, empowering people to become independent
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to express and formulate written and verbal ideas and information in a clear and concise manner
- Drivers License and access to a personal vehicle
