Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services Department is inviting applications for 1 (one) Permanent Full Time, Community Development & Cultural Support Supervisor to assist in the Prevention & Recovery Program in the community of La Ronge. S/he will be reporting to the Prevention & Recovery Coordinator. This position requires living a healthy lifestyle and being familiar with Woodland Cree culture. Being outgoing, creative and getting community members involved in program planning and activities.
Duties:
- Ensure and approve time sheets, leave requests and educational leaves;
- Prepares statistical reports for submission;
- Prepares monthly reports for program Coordinator;
- Provides coaching and mentoring for staff within their unit;
- Provides initial and on-going field orientation of new staff;
- Ensure team work is being implemented on a daily basis;
- Coordinates and chairs program meetings;
- Conducts performance appraisals within the probationary period annually for the staff supervised, with the assistance of the program Coordinator;
- Ensuring the implementation of identified continuing educational plan to meet ongoing professional needs of the staff;
- Assists Coordinator in disciplinary measures;
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or designate;
Qualifications:
- Certificate in Social Work or health related field;
- Enjoys working with youth and Elders; Must live in the community and have a healthy lifestyle;
- 2 years, experience in Community Development and Program Planning;
- Excellent verbal, written communication and public relations skills;
- Ability to speak/understand Cree; knowledge of the Woodland Cree Culture is a must;
- Must have a Class 5 Drivers license;
- Security Clearance: Current Criminal Record Clearance/Child Abuse Record Check and Driver's Abstract required upon hire;
