Description

The Saskatoon Tribal Council is a dynamic, forward-looking, outcome based organization.  We are currently hiring Prevention Program Coordinators.

This position provides support and linkages to services to ensure First Nations children grow up in their own culture with the caring family supports they need. Some of the duties assigned to the Prevention Program Coordinator are:
1.    Responding to concerns in a culturally sensitive manner.
2.    Engaging First Nations children, youth and families, First Nation communities and agency.
3.    Creating environment with resources that support community capacity and engage stakeholders that serve the best interest of the child.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Significant experience working with First Nations people and knowledge and understanding of culture and traditions of Cree, Saulteaux and Sioux First Nations
- Bachelors degree in social work (BISW OR BSW), or equivalent certificate (CISW OR CSW), and 5 years of experience in social work or family service field
- Comprehensive understanding of Child & Family Services Act (CFSA) and FSIN Indian Child Welfare Family Support Act
- Provide original copy of your CPIC (RCMP only) along with your resume
- At interview, you must provide a copy of a vulnerabilities check (ACI) from Ministry of Social Services (Saskatchewan) and equivalent from any other jurisdiction in which you have lived during the past 10 years
- Provide copy of vulnerabilities check from CFS Agency serving your First Nation (if applicable)
- Provide copy of valid Saskatchewan drivers license and driver abstract
- Good knowledge of political, social and economical objectives of Saskatoon Tribal Council
- Registered with Saskatchewan Association of Social Work
