Description

The Saskatoon Tribal Council is currently hiring Child Protection Supervisors in Human Services, Child and Family Services & Urban Program Delivery.

This position exists to strengthen the lives of the children, youth & families we assist by providing support and linkages to services to ensure First Nations children grow up in their own culture.  Some of the duties assigned to this position are:
1. Model, facilitate and lead a team that delivers programs that support the healthy development of children and families in a culturally sensitive manner.
2. Advocate and provide direction to child protection workers to ensure all interactions and proceedings occur with the best interest of the child first and foremost are nurturing and culturally appropriate.  
3. Providing guidance and direction to staff adhering to our mandate and creating opportunities for capacity building in the communities we serve.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience working with First Nations people and knowledge and understanding of the culture and traditions of the Cree, Saulteaux and Sioux First Nations
- Bachelors degree in social work (BISW OR BSW), or equivalent certificate (CISW OR CSW), & minimum 10 years of experience in social work or family service field
- Comprehensive understanding of Child & Family Services Act (CFSA) and FSIN Indian Child Welfare Family Support Act
- Provide an original copy of your CPIC (RCMP only) along with your resume
- At the time of interview, must provide copy of vulnerabilities check (ACI) from the Ministry of Social Services (Saskatchewan) and equivalent from any other jurisdiction in which you have lived during the past 10 years
- Provide a copy of vulnerabilities check from the CFS Agency serving your First Nation (if applicable)
- Provide copy of a valid Saskatchewan drivers license and a driver abstract
- Must be registered with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Work
