The Health & Safety Coordinator will promote a safe workplace by ensuring all work under Fortis' control is performed safely by adhering to the highest of industry standards. The Health & Safety Coordinator will ensure that all workers are orientated to site and to the emergency response plans, and that all work is planned and executed according to Fortis, the client, and legislated practices. This is a contract position.
Responsibilities
To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Advise Project Supervision on Health and Safety matters
Providing site orientation and base line training
Perform regular workplace inspections as required
Aid in developing training, environmental security and emergency response plans and communicate to site workers
Prepare and issue monthly and weekly HSE reports
Assist in preparation and monitoring of quality and completeness with Five Point Safety Card/FLRAs and other safety documents
Monitor required compliance
Coordinate all incident investigations
Chair/Participate in Safety Meetings as required
Requirements
Preference given to those with 2 years experience working in an underground environment
Must have recognized Safety designation, such as NCSO or CRSP
Minimum of 5 years working as a Health and Safety Professional
Knowledge of Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and Saskatchewan Mining Regulations.
Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
