Description

Adecco Saskatoon is currently recruiting for a Welding Foreman job for a client based out of Biggar, Sk. Leading in the manufacturing of storage tanks for over 20 years, our client is dedicated to providing superior quality and environmentally friendly steel storage tanks to major industries such as oil and gas, transportation, construction and waste management. The Welding foreman will be responsible to lead and effectively manage a team of 12-15 people, while enforcing safety practices within their team unit.

Responsibilities:
-Work in a safe manner to identify and control workplace hazards
-Establish and enforce safe work procedures to comply with legislation
-Ensure employees are working safe and producing good quality in a timely manner
-Train new employees and inspect daily work
-Manage, organize and sign daily timesheets and worksheets
-Ensure welding procedures are being followed
-Ensure build procedures are being followed
-Administer daily toolbox meetings
-Sign off on all incoming and outgoing parts and equipment
-Oversee overhead lifts
-Maintain shop cleanliness

Qualifications:
-Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a welding foreman position
-CWB Ticket and/or journeyman welder
-Proven welding trade experience
-Strong organizational and strategic planning skills
-Ability to understand and execute written and oral instructions
-Knowledge of supervisory and foreman practices and ability to effectively supervise the work of subordinates
-Extensive knowledge on the OH&S hazards applicable to the industry
-Experience in manufacturing and/or working with stainless steel, iron, heavy metal and/or storage tanks is a definite asset.

This position is located in the companys head office in Biggar,Saskatchewan, where all engineering, manufacturing, project management, production, technical support and contact administration are completed.
