Description

SMPIA is currently seeking a full-time Program Officer to work from Saskatoon.  The deadline for applications is Friday October 31, 2014 with a start date in November 2014.

The Program Officer will inform, coordinate and execute programming opportunities for the media production industry in Saskatchewan with the support of an Outcome and Communications Coordinator.  The programming opportunities delivered will fit within SMPIAs strategic goals and be responsive to industry needs.

Areas of programming focus:
Membership/industry support in non-funding ways
Business training & skills development
Industry research & market intelligence
Market development, presence and access

Outcomes of programming:
Increase media production industry jobs
Increase business for the media production industry
Assist companies in becoming stronger through strategies such as diversification, investment attraction and development of niche markets
Skills development

Some of the expected activities include:
Creating opportunities to pitch investors and meet with decision makers
Coordinating networking opportunities with potential clients, employers, partners, and colleagues
Connecting job seekers and employers within the industry
Facilitating industry learning opportunities
Researching and providing market intelligence
Celebrating local achievements to raise the profile and highlight the investability of the Saskatchewan industry
Attending business fairs, giving presentations, hosting workshops and other knowledge sharing activities such as one-on-one consultation with SMPIAs members who are not able to attend events
Creating partnerships with relevant industry associations and organizations to encourage collaboration to reach common goals

This full time salaried position will require travel as well as some nights and weekend work based on an estimated 35 hours/week.
