Description

Reporting to the Director, Information Technology Branch, the IT Technical Manager is responsible for the entire technical infrastructure including: server, network, computer hardware (approximately 450 desktops, 1000 employee users), technical disaster recovery, database administration, support, and technical architecture. Supported areas include Regina and Saskatoon offices; distribution warehouse location; and 75 store locations. This position is also responsible for the IT Service Desk and IT Asset Management functions.  This position implements and influences change within their own technical and service desk team, ITB, and the business; provides leadership to resources within their area as well as application project teams, as required; and is a key member of the enterprise architecture team and provides contributions to aid development of architectural standards and support. This position directly impacts all aspects of the SLGA infrastructure in regards to all domain architectures including technical, application, business and information. The IT Technical Manager provides leadership to employees that provide technical support, database, and infrastructure services. The IT Technical Manager has a collaborative relationship with the Managers of IT Application and IT Architecture to ensure that the impact on security and the domain architectures including technical, application, business and information, are positive. This position plays a key role in the development and implementation of the ITB Strategic Plan, and assists with the alignment of SLGA business areas and IT.
