Description

General Description:  The Manager of Finance is responsible for the planning, implementation and management of financial systems and functions in support of ongoing operational needs and long term development of McClure Place, contributing to the overall mission and working within the values of the organization.

Reporting Requirements:  As a member of the senior management team, the Manager of Finance reports directly to the Executive Director.  

Duties and Responsibilities:
    Manage and implement all financial processes and activities including daily banking requirements, cash flow, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll journal entries, bank reconciliations and investments.
    Ensure compliance and necessary reporting to all relevant regulatory and legislative bodies.
    Manage the development of annual budgets working with the management team, monitor spending and forecasting.
    Prepare monthly and annual financial statements with variance analysis.
    Co-ordinate and facilitate the annual audit.
    Manage group benefit plan and group retirement plan.

Skills and Knowledge:
Demonstrated ability to:
    Multi-task, work under pressure and  meet deadlines
    Work as part of a team and take on leadership roles as required
    communicate exceptionally well, both verbally and in writing
    collaboratively and creatively problem solve
    work in collegial manner in a joint-use facility with a corporate culture of sharing and cooperation
    work with older adults and in a non-profit setting an asset

Knowledge of:
    Accounting and budgeting, internal controls, processes and procedures
    Experience with Quick Books, Ceridian Power Pay, Ceridian Day Force Human Capital Management Software.
    Microsoft Excel, Word and Access

Education:
    Graduate of a recognized program in financial administration
