Khan Carpets & Home Inc.

Looking for (2) two experienced Carpet Installers
(NOC-7295)
This is a full time position
Wages $18.25 per hour

Khan Carpets & Home Inc. in Saskatoon requires
fulltime carpet installers.

The successful
applicant must be able to inspect measure and mark
surfaces to be covered.

A minimum of two years work experience in the
trade is required.
Some courses in floor covering installation are an
asset, but not required
Flexible scheduling, early mornings, late evenings
and weekend work is required.

Completion of secondary school
Conversational English language is acceptable.

Duties as a Carpet Installer, but not limited to:
Inspect, measure and mark surfaces to be covered
Measure, cut and fasten underlay and under padding
Measure, cut and install carpeting using hand or
machine stretcher, seaming iron, bonding tape or
other bonding material.
Stretch carpeting using knee-kicker or power
stretcher and secure carpeting to floor or other
surfaces using staple gun or other devices.
Measure, cut and install resilient floor covering
using adhesive, rollers and other hand tools.
Install carpet on some floors using adhesive,
following prescribed method.
Join edges of carpet and seam edges where
necessary, by sewing or by using tape with glue or
heated carpet iron.
Nail tack strips around area to be carpeted or use
old strips to attach edges of new carpet
Fasten metal treads across door opening or where
carpet meets flooring to hold carpet in place
Measure, cut and install tackles strips along the
baseboard or wall
Draw building diagrams and record dimensions
Inspect and repair damaged floor coverings
Move furniture from area to be carpeted and remove
old carpet and padding, if needed.
