Description

The Meadow Lake Tribal Council is accepting applications for a highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position of Mediation/Alternative Measures Coordinator. The successful candidate will work closely with the MLTC Justice Team and the ML First Nation Communities to oversee/coordinate the Alternative Measures/Extrajudicial Sanctions Protocol for adults and youth.  

QUALIFICATIONS

-Degree in Human Justice, Human Services and/or related education and experience will be considered; a certificate in Mediation would also be a definite asset.
-Awareness of current First Nation governance systems, programs and service sectors with respect to protocol, structures, and procedures; informed about Cree/Dene cultural values, customs and beliefs.  
-Knowledgeable on relevant legislation and understanding of how the Canadian Justice System operates.
-Demonstrated ability in research, written communication, and computer processing.  
-Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively assist with meetings and presentation delivery.
-Organized, dependable, responsible and able to maintain strict confidentiality.  Must be able to work with clients in a respectful and understanding manner.
-Must have a valid driver's license and be able and willing to travel.
-Ability to speak Cree and/or Dene will be considered an asset.
