Description

Parkland Victims Services Inc. is a police based non-profit organization.  We work in cooperation with the RCMP to provide assistance to victims of crime and traumatic events. Program funding is through a grant made available by Saskatchewan Justice.
Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Coordinator you will be responsible for assisting with the development and management of day-to-day operations of the Victims Services program in a designated region. You will be responsible for providing direction to and supervision of volunteers, file assignment to volunteers and also to assist them in matters related to their work. It may be required, when necessary, to assist volunteers in their work with victims providing crisis intervention, information, support, assistance, court orientation, accompaniment and referrals. This position involves substantial contact with the public, volunteer victim support workers, community agencies and police employees.
Part-time Assistant Coordinator will be based in Wadena and will be responsible for the Wadena, Wynyard, Foam Lake and Fishing Lake areas.
You will be directly supervised by the Victims Services Coordinator.
Qualifications:
Basic computer skills, good written skills, records management
Demonstrated strength in interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills
A degree in the Social Sciences, Human Justice or a related field would be an asset
Public speaking skills
Preference will be given to those having previous experience working with victims
The successful candidate must meet the R.C.M.P. Security Clearance and hold a valid operator's license
