This position is under the general direction of the Recreation Services Manager and is required to carry out general maintenance duties and responsibilities in the COOP Aquatic Centre. Hours of work will be from 8:00 PM t0 4:00 AM.
Duties and Responsibilities:
General caretaking & cleaning duties throughout the facility, including but not limited to: sweeping, scrubbing and mopping of floors; cleaning & disinfecting floors, deck, waterslide stair tiles, shower rooms, change rooms, lockers, public washrooms, birthday/multipurpose room, public common space; window & glass cleaning as required.
Maintain checklists & records with respect to duties, tasks & cycles.
Supports and promotes a safe workplace.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
Grade XII or experience/knowledge deemed acceptable to the City.
Knowledge & experience of facility maintenance - minimum 1 yr experience.
Good organizational skills and ability to multi task and prioritize work based on need.
Must have a knowledge of cleaning products and application.
Excellent communication skills in order to establish good public relations with public & staff.
Excellent physical health with basic swimming skills.
WHMIS, First Aid/CPR or must obtain within 6 months.
Must be a team player with good problem solving skills.
Must be self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
May require flexibility with shifts from time to time.
