Description

The City of Swift Current is inviting applications for a temporary full-time Labourer position for the Infrastructure and Operations Division.  

Under the direction of the Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Superintendent, you would be part of the crew which is responsible for construction, repair and maintenance of the water distribution system, the sanitary sewage collection and disposal system.

Advancement in positions in the Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Department are attainable through skills certification.  

Basic Requirements:
. Grade XII Education;
. Possession of, or ability to obtain Water and/or Wastewater Certification Training as required by the Saskatchewan Department of the Environment. (Preference will be given to candidates who have completed appropriate training);
. Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5A (Air Brake endorsement) Saskatchewan Drivers License;
. Must be physically fit and able to perform outside physical labour at all times of the year including various weather conditions and temperature extremes; and
. Ability to work well with other employees.

Desirable Requirements:
. Previous related experience and proven ability to perform the duties in an efficient and skillful manner;
. Knowledge of workplace safety; and
. Flag person experience

The salary range is $18.52 to $20.88 per hour.
