We are currently seeking Production Planner for our Equipment Solutions Division. The candidate will work closely with shop management, purchasing, engineering and other related personnel to ensure on-time delivery and accurate scheduling for BESL.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with sales, shop management, engineering and purchasing to accurately plan the long term production for the plant and ensure on-time delivery to our customers.
- Process Engineering Change Orders, determining best production methods, routings and standard times for new and modified products.
- Monitor actual production and maintain accurate routings on all products.
- Set up projects. Evaluate parts manufacturability, and provide feedback to Engineering as required.
- Organize new product reviews as required, and ensure that Inventory Control staff, Shop Supervisors, and Purchasers have all required information to process new products and projects efficiently.
- Create production orders to meet demands of Sales,balancing material availability and shop capacity.
- Level shop loading for available equipment and personnel.
- Communicate with Purchasing when products or components must be purchased or subcontracted to meet production requirements.
- Communicate inventory problems to Inventory Control staff, and help to resolve. Monitor and minimize slow moving inventory.
- Continually evaluate practices and processes while developing and implementing improvements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Strong working knowledge of steel fabrication and machine shop practices.
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines.
- Must be highly motivated, possess excellent communication skills and able to lead by example.
- Knowledge of Industrial Equipment, Microsoft Office, and Scheduling / Planning experience is required
- Experience with manufacturing Software - Required
- Understanding of AutoCAD / Solid works would be considered an asset.
