Summary
The A-Fire Technical Advisor will be tasked with designing and delivering training programs to both A-Fire USA and A-Fire locally. This position will also provide technical assistance to the A-Fire Division and will help implement additional quality control procedures within the division. This role will be a key player in the process from pulling the permit to providing documentation to the Inspection Body or authority having jurisdiction.
Job Duties
- Collaborates with Engineering Dept. in drawing control and approval processes
- Pulling permits appropriate for local jurisdictions
- Sign off as qualified gasfitter approving commissioning done by field technicians
- Ensure documentation (including drawings, code references and safety requirements) are complete and accurate for B149.3 approval by P.Eng or Inspection Body
- Technical advisor for both Canadian and US operations
- Preparation and execution of training programs for A-Fire personnel
- Participate in field assessments and safety orientations
- Technical and practical resource for R&D and ongoing product development
- Participation in development of new products from inception, design, testing to field implementation
- Involvement in division quality control including inspection
- New hire field safety orientations
- Provide safety recommendations for this division
- Support A-Fire Service Tech Manager
Requirements
- Registered Gasfitter in Alberta and/or Saskatchewan
- 10 or more years industry experience
- 5 or more years experience in a supervisory capacity
- Significant knowledge of fuel gas control systems including all aspects of burner management systems, maintenance and inspection
- Working knowledge of related functions of electrical and instrumentation
- Comprehensive knowledge of applicable codes, regulations and standards including B149
