Description

Summary: Responsible for performing custodial duties, minor maintenance and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that community buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner. The Custodial Engineer reports to their supervisor with overall accountability to the Director of Operations. He/She would be responsible for custodial services to the Sakimay Community buildings as required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Possess the knowledge and ability for the operation of mechanical and plumbing maintenance (i.e. furnace/air conditioning operation)
- Possess knowledge of cleaning and maintenance methods and techniques for commercial facilities
- Possess the physical capabilities to perform commercial cleaning tasks
- Be of a pleasant, professional manner as well as being punctual, reliable and ensure that confidential matters remain confidential
- Possess the ability to operate commercial cleaning equipment and products
- Possess the ability to develop and maintain an annual cleaning schedule which determines the timing of tasks, such as stripping and waxing floors, for annual, monthly and daily cleaning
- Possess the ability to be well organized, to be on task in order for the facility to look presentable to the public at all times
- Possess the ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision
- Be able to prepare minor reports and maintain an inventory system
- Be willing to learn and operate the security systems for the facilities
- Be willing to work flexible hours
- Possess a valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle would be an asset
- Submit a pre-employment drug screening with application
- Submission of criminal record check, with vulnerability sector with application
- Possession of a valid WHMIS certificate or any other Safety Certificate would be an asset
