QUALIFICATIONS/EXPEREINCE
To be successful in this position the ideal candidate will be an innovative professional with the following essential skills, knowledge and abilities:

A Bachelor?s Degree in nursing and a minimum 5 years of experience in public health nursing relevant experience or a Master?s Degree in applied Public Health or Health Promotion and 3 years of experience in public health.
Must have current registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA).
Possess a thorough knowledge about the health status of populations, inequities in health, the determinants of health and illness, strategies for health promotion, disease and injury prevention and health protection, as well as, the factors that influence the delivery and use of health services and critical thinking skills related to public health sciences to public health nursing practice.
Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide variety of people, and can lead discussions and address public gatherings concerned with health.
Experience in public health nursing policy and program planning, implementation and evaluation.
Experience in providing direction on immunization programs including immunization schedules and best practises.
Skilled in oral and written communication including use of public relations and knowledge of avenues available for the dissemination of information.
Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office.
Experience working in a First Nations organization and/or ability to speak a First Nations language is an asset.
Possesses a valid driver's license and can travel as required.
