The Saskatchewan Association for Community Living (SACL) is a vibrant not-for-profit organization advocating for individuals with intellectual disabilities in Saskatchewan. We are looking for an energetic self-starter to be the Director of Community Engagement for the SACL Northern Partnerships for Inclusion.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop partnerships with relevant stakeholders in Northern Saskatchewan including the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors.
Facilitate the engagement of other SACL programs and services in the region.
Conduct a needs assessment and develop the business case for the establishment of supports for individuals with intellectual disabilities in the identified communities.
The areas of the needs assessment and business case will focus on three priority areas:
o Access to Psychological Assessments and services
o Housing
o Education to Workforce Transitions
Requirements:
Post-secondary education in the Social Sciences and/or significant experience working in a not-for-profit organization.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of issues affecting individuals with intellectual disabilities, specifically those living in Northern Saskatchewan.
Valid Drivers License and drivers abstract.
A criminal record check including a vulnerable sector check
The Director of Community Engagement will be responsible for liaising with identified community stakeholders to develop the case for the development of resources and supports for people with intellectual disabilities living in Northern Saskatchewan. The development of relationships and community connections will be critical to the success of the position. This person will be required to have strong interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to complete community based research.
