JOB SUMMARY: The Accountant Clerk is a support position and is supervised on a daily basis by the Senior Accountant. The clerk is responsible for assisting in the maintenance of accurate business transactions and record keeping of the Band and Entities. The Accountant Clerk is responsible for inputting data and maintaining an accurate filing system, assists with auditing requirements, issues receipts and perform general office procedures that include answering the phones, sorting check stubs, routing requests, issuing cash receipts and other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have the knowledge and ability to operate a computer, be able to input data into an automated system and be familiar with the following software: ACCPAC for windows, Excel and Microsoft Word at a minimum.
- Must have knowledge of First Nation Government Operations.
- Must possess a Business Admin Certificate, Accounting or Finance Certificate.
- Must be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and possess the ability to take direction and work with minimum supervision.
- Must submit a clear criminal record check along with resume.
