From its corporate office in Saskatoon, Western Building Centres Limited is a consolidator of hardware and building product companies. With business units in North Battleford, Prince Albert, Kindersley, Humboldt and Saskatoon, the company serves these markets under the Home Hardware banner with a particular focus on extraordinary customer service.
Reporting to the Vice President - Finance and Administration, the Intermediate Accountant will work with the Office Managers in the business units to provide accurate and timely financial information along with other key management information. As a key member of the team, will be responsible for supporting change initiatives and ensuring implementation is effectively executed. This role is a full time role situated in the Western Building Centres Limited corporate head office with some travel within the region to the various business units.
Activities and Tasks include:
Support the accounting staffs efforts to maintain financial record systems in accordance with Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises.
Participate in changes/advancements of technology platforms and related processes throughout the organization
Accounts payable processing for corporate office with assistance to business units
Payroll processing for corporate office with assistance to business units
Compile weekly performance metrics for review and approval
Experience required:
At least three years experience in a similar role. Experience with full cycle payroll processing, receivables/collections and computer system integration considered an asset. Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
