Description

Reporting to the Director, Client Services, the Senior Community Resources Coordinator is responsible for developing, planning, implementing and evaluating services for people affected by multiple sclerosis, in the province and specifically in Saskatoon and Northern Saskatchewan. This position will provide support consultations to those affected by MS, as well as provide public education on the MS Society of Canada and multiple sclerosis. This position will also be a key contact in providing organizational support to chapters and support groups in Northern Saskatchewan, to ensure they develop into viable operating entities, working within Society policies. This position is a position of trust in Client Services.  The incumbent will be required to complete the screening process including completion of appropriate background checks in compliance with the National Screening Measures Policy (2006).

Qualifications:
College diploma or university degree in the social sciences or human sciences field (social work, psychology, etc.) with at least 2-3 years of experience in the not-for-profit field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience - A valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle required - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Proven experience with planning, implementation and evaluating projects/programs - Experience with people with disabilities - Ability to deal with people in a wide range of situations in a sensitive, professional and confidential manner - Experience working with volunteers, with public relations and presentations, and in fundraising is an asset - Proven time management skills - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision - Computer experience, including ability to utilize Client Services database system

Special Considerations: Office setting with some community visits and occasional travel (including overnight travel), evening, and weekend work.
