Description

The Opportunity
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible for performing complex product evaluations, preparing designs, performing testing of components, and providing general engineering support to develop and enhance products.   The successful candidate will be expected to:
    Make recommendations pertaining to specific engineering problems.
    Prepare conceptual designs, 3D models and production drawings.
    Perform analytical calculations in the field of applied mechanics, strength of materials, fluid mechanics, and tolerance stack-up to ensure integrity of design.
    Prepare and present engineering design concepts and solutions and participate in design review meetings.
    Prepare change requests,
    Initiate and contribute to the continuous improvement of the product to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Qualifications
    The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or CAD/CAM Engineering Technology.
    Min 5 years mechanical engineering or manufacturing experience
    Experience working in a Autodesk environment (Inventor, Vault Manufacturing and  AutoCad).
    Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power Point, Microsoft Project, etc.
    Have the ability to plan, organize and execute with a strong attention to detail.
    Display flexibility and creativity in dealing with scheduling and other complex issues.
    Good communication and presentation skills, self-confidence and assertiveness.
    Ability to handle change a self-starter who can work with minimum supervision
    Ability to work through conflict is energized by challenges.
    Demonstrate ability to achieve results through teamwork.
Previous experience with mining or heavy construction industry and/or material handling projects would be considered an asset.
