Reporting directly to the VP, Programming & Student Services, the Coordinator provides leadership to the Basic Education and Literacy program areas including;overall coordination and management, program planning and evaluation, developing and implementing policy and standardized processes, monitoring of budgets and targets, and supervision of staff.
Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated ability to relate to adult learners and their concerns.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Demonstrated skills such as negotiating with partners, budgeting, analysis, program planning and evaluation, and general management skills, including supervision of staff.
Demonstrated skills working in successful partnerships in a collaborative and cross-cultural setting
Demonstrated experience in the use of computer applications
Demonstrated skills in the development and implementation of policy and standardized processes.
Demonstrated communication skills, including written and oral, and effective public relations skills.
Education and Experience
The minimum relevant knowledge or formal training essential to perform the functions of this position is a relevant Bachelors degree
This education would provide knowledge in educational theory, educational curriculum content and development, program administration, program planning and evaluation, budgeting, analytical and critical thinking, and research skills.
Preference for adult education teaching experience.
A minimum of three years of educational administration experience, preferably in an adult educational setting. This experience would typically include a role in the supervision and evaluation of instructional and other staff.
