Description

To provide leadership to the drafting department and ensure that models are accurate and produced on time.

Duties and Responsibilities

    To plan, in conjunction with the Division Manager and the team and execute projects in accordance with Corporate Policy.  
    Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships to enhance competitiveness in the industry and promote good customer relationships.
    Process sheet metal orders using Vulcan software
    Update and maintain the Vulcan data base
    Assist in preparing detailed structural drawings for fabrication
    Assist in preparing 3D interference drawings of mechanical & electrical systems using Auto Cad MEP and Revit.
    Lead coordination meetings using Navis works software to identify clashes.
    Produce red line as built drawings of mechanical & electrical systems.
    Produce QA weld map drawings
    Prepare drawing packages for use by field staff
    Review drawings for accuracy and ensure they meet customers specifications prior to releasing for fabrication.
    Create modeling schedules, delegate work load to tem members and ensure critical target dates are met.
    Create drawings for use with the Total Station Robot
    Coordinate 3D laser scanning of existing sites for BIM modeling

Education and Skill Requirements

    A college diploma in Mechanical or CAD CAM technology is an asset
    Several years of experience in the construction industry, is beneficial
    Some experience in the construction industry may substitute for post-secondary education requirements
    Construction trade certification is beneficial
