Description

Black & McDonald Ltd. is looking to fill (2) full time welder positions in a fast paced steel manufacturing environment, located in Saskatoon Saskatchewan.

Roles & Responsibilities
    Reads and studies layouts, blueprints, diagram, work order and welding procedures to determine work to be completed; may also receive verbal instructions.
    Plans work in logical sequence and determines tools/equipment needed
    Must operate equipment in a safe manner and report any hazards associated with equipment or its operators to Supervisor or Plant Manager; adhere to all safety procedures.
    Lays out, positions, aligns & fits components together
    Welding in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions.
    Team player who prioritizes and plans work activities
    Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
    Able to work with minimal supervision
    Use manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal pieces using processes such as GMAW/SMAW/FCAW
    Operate metal shaping machines, such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines.
    Keeps work area organized, clean and in orderly condition
    Other duties/and or projects as assigned by a member of the management team

Education
    Minimum 2-3 years experience with structural and piping fabrication an asset.
    High school or equivalent and some technical training
    Welder Trade Certificate; Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) Certificate, Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan (TSASK) Certificate as asset; willing to train and assist with certification of non-certified individuals who complete required probationary period.
    Technical Skills: - Must demonstrate a working knowledge of all CSA W59-03 & ASME requirements, company policy and specifications
