A multi-disciplinary research lab in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan is seeking applications for a post-doctoral research fellow / research associate in the area of UV-Visible-NIR spectroscopy and imaging, with particular application to industrial process monitoring and agriculture.
The selected candidate will conduct basic and applied research broadly related to the use of spectroscopic techniques under non-ideal measurement conditions, such as those found in industrial or agricultural applications. The candidate will also assist the Principal Investigator in ensuring a safe and effective laboratory environment, providing supplemental mentoring and research support to undergraduate and graduate researchers on the team, reporting on research results, and developing new and existing research funding and partnerships.
Start date: negotiable. The position is for one year, with renewal for a second year pending a successful review. Further extension is possible if additional funding is secured. The suggested salary range is $35,000 to $40,000 CDN, subject to qualifications of the candidate. Employment benefits, such as supplemental health and dental coverage, are not included in the compensation package.
