Description

A multi-employer, defined benefit pension plan, SHEPP is a high-energy organisation with a 'can-
do' spirit committed to serving the best interests
of our members. We are committed to providing our
employees with a valuable work experience, the
opportunity to strike a good work/life balance and a competitive compensation package.
In this key front line service role the Pension
Officer brings expert understanding of the Plan's
benefit provisions and administrative procedures to deliver superior service to members, beneficiaries and other Plan stakeholders. As a member of SHEPP's core business unit, you will be called upon to work effectively in a team environment where mutual accountability and
positive results are the measure of success.
As a Pension Officer you will be responsible for: processing claims under the Plan; performing pension entitlement calculations; processing prior service purchase requests and elections; and providing pension portability agreement transfers. You will also be responsible for receiving phone calls and conducting one-on one meetings with members and relevant stakeholders to discuss Plan benefits.
To succeed in this position you must have strong
interpersonal and organisation skills and the
enthusiasm to bring those skills to bear in the
best service to our organisation and our members.
Accuracy and attention to detail is critical. Qualified candidates will possess a degree in
business, mathematics or a related field and have
a minimum of two or more years of pension
administration experience or customer service
experience in the financial services industry. You have a comprehensive knowledge of mathematical concepts and applications used in the financial industry. You are an efficient team oriented individual, capable of exercising a high degree of initiative and sound judgment to ensure matters are resolved efficiently and effectively.
