Truck Spotter (Shunter Truck Driver)
The position of truck spotter is required to shunt trailers in and out of the bay doors, and will ensure that trailers are mechanically fit on a daily basis. The spotter will also be required to perform driver relief duties as needed.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
-Shunting trailers to and from loading docks in a safe and efficient manner
-Shunting between service providers for general repairs
-Perform pre/post trip inspections on trailers
-Report any non-compliance company policy issues and/or violations of health and safety standards
-Actively communicate between transportation and receiving departments
-Perform minor mechanical repairs as required
-Ability to track all equipment, and maintenance logs
-Provide linehaul relief coverage as required
-Perform other assigned duties as requested
Qualifications:
-Relevant driving experience in a similar industry
-Ability to work in a fast paced environment
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
-Possess or willing to obtain WHMIS certification
-Valid 1A drivers license
-Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
