The Town of Outlook is currently seeking an Equipment Operator/ Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.
The Equipment Operator portion of the position requires the proficient operation and maintenance of municipal equipment (Backhoe, Grader, Wheel Loader, etc.) on a day to day basis. Mechanical abilities is an asset.
The Treatment Plants Operator is jointly responsible for the treatment, collection, distribution, and daily operations of the Class II Water Treatment Plant and Class II Wastewater Treatment Plant . The operator will also jointly institute plant policies and procedures in strict accordance with all provincial regulations. The position involves:
Shift work, working alone, and participation in the stand-by schedule.
Performing facility operations and maintenance tasks related to process monitoring and optimization.
Reporting and detailed record keeping
Qualifications:
Hold a Minimum Level 2 Water Treatment Certificate.
Hold a Minimum Level 2 Water Distribution Certificate.
Hold a Minimum Level 2 Wastewater Collection Certificate.
Hold a Minimum Level 2 Wastewater Treatment Certificate
Candidate should have 1-2 years experience in operating water and wastewater facilities, and construction, installation, and repair of water and wastewater mains and service connections.
Hold a valid Class 3 Drivers License with air brake endorsement is preferred. A yearly copy of drivers license abstract is required.
Candidate must be physically fit, accountable to work independently and be a self-starter.
The expected salary scale for the position is $40,570.41 to $52,748.46 per year and will be based on proven experience. The position also offers a comprehensive benefit package.
