Requirements:
We are looking for a prompt, pleasant, well spoken person comfortable dealing with the public and experienced in office work. The successsful applicant will have good telephone skills and be proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook Express 2010, client database software, photocopiers and printers. As a downtown Christian Church we require our office staff to be prepared to receive and direct a variety of people who "drop in" as well as assist our members when they call, email , or visit the office. The nature of this work requires someone who can be both task oriented and flexible, and able to deal with confidential information when requested. Experience with work on a website will also be an asset.
Job Description:
This is primarily an office assistant to the Priest (Dean of the Cathedral) and Volunteer leaders. We are creating a temporary position while our secretary is on leave for approximately 2 months. This office assistant will open the Church office Tues. - Thurs. at 9am and close it at 12noon. They will answer the phone and office door, retreive messages and open mail. Under the direction of our priest, the assistant will prepare a "Sunday Bulletin". Other duties assigned by the priest will include: making office and home visit appointments, preparing out going mail and email and uploading documents to the soon to be launched website and other office duties as assigned.
