Job Summary:
The District Occupational Therapist is accountable for all aspects of occupational therapy patient care consistent with the Mission Statement, philosophy, goals and objectives of the District using a participative team approach, in accordance with the Code of Ethics established by the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists. The District Occupational Therapist is a member of a professional health discipline whose
education and knowledge qualify him/her to make decisions and accept responsibility for all aspects of occupational therapy patient care. The objective of occupational therapy is to assist the patient to regain or maintain his/her optimum level of functioning, and to participate in preventive medicine by the use of appropriate means. All patients are assessed and treated in keeping with the By-Laws and the Code of Ethics of the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists and the Saskatchewan Society of Occupational Therapists.
Experience: Experience, knowledge in functional rehabilitation an asset. Experience/training in secondary or tertiary treatment and/or assessments an asset.
Hours of Work: 224.00 hours per 6 week rotation
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapy
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Society of Occupational Therapists
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
