The successful candidate will be responsible for routine and preventative maintenance, locksmithing duties, minor renovations, millwork fabrication and installation.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid Journeyman Certificate in the carpentry trade, supplemented by 3 to 5 years of practical experience in commercial carpentry installations and maintenance.
Locksmithing rekeying, working/sub/master/grandmaster,duplicate keys, code to keys, program unicans, setup and maintain key systems, pick and plug locks, repair mortise locks, panic hardware, lock sets, door closures, reset doors and alignment.
Thorough knowledge of relevant Codes.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Ability to work independently and within deadlines.
Ability to maintain safe working conditions within a school environment.
Ability to understand trade terminology.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills in order to work positively with administrative, trades and school staff.
Demonstrated ability to organize work.
Valid Class 5 Operators license with no record of any driving-related infractions in the past two years.
Physically capable of performing heavy duties and are able to lift and work with objects up to 25 Kg (55lbs) for up to an hour using safe work practices.
Competency in the areas of locksmithing or other trade tickets would be an asset.
