Thyssen Mining is currently looking for an experienced person to participate in the development of the Safety management program and worker training, mining equipment & mining methodology, as well as ensuring such training is performed and validated in the field.
The applicant must have a minimum of 5 years experience in the safety & training field with a solid track record of having trained workers in safe operation techniques and safety culture. The applicant must have as a minimum a Certified Safety Officer Certification or better. The applicant should understand the full training cycle and can demonstrate a successful record in developing and delivering effective training programs.
The applicant must be knowledgeable in hazard recognition and the ability to offer field solutions to safety engineering problems, such as structural integrity, safe machine guarding & operation, safe systems of work, etc. The applicant must have experience in mining equipment operation and equipment auditing and be able to develop safe work procedures consistent with Federal, Provincial, industrial and company regulations.
The applicant must also have a track record of working with safety & training programs and field safety personnel with the goal of raising Thyssen Mining's safety program to exceed best industry practices and international standards.
This position works a 2 weeks in, 2 weeks out rotation at a remote mine site.
