Lac La Ronge Indian Band Health Services Department is now inviting applications for a (1) year Temporary Part Time, Parent Support Worker for the Community of Grandmother`s Bay. The ideal candidate will gather information and assess family functions. Develop and implement intervention plans, assist in client referrals, support, and guidance. Provide emotional support, information on parenting skills, and feedback to clients.

Duties:
- In-home visiting with prenatal families and those who have children age 0-6 years;
- Teaching individuals and groups on health promotion;
- Assist Community Health Nurses to deliver programs and provide services;
- Advocate and act as a liaison for families;
- Work closely with the other Health Care Team members;
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or designate;

Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or GED Certificate; Combination of education & experience may be considered;
- Public speaking and interpersonal communication skills;
- Be able to work independently, self-directed and demonstrate organizational skills;
- Personal experience as parent or caregiver of infants &/or young children;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Must possess a Valid Class 5 Driver's License;
- Working knowledge with First Nations culture, and the ability to speak/understand Cree is an asset;
- Security Clearance: Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Record Check and Driver's Abstract required upon hire;
