The responsibilities of the Job Coach are to work collaboratively with the Job Developer, the participant and the employer to provide ongoing supports that result in positive work outcomes. The Job Coach will be aware of and follow the guidelines and appropriate terminology for the portrayal of persons with disabilities and be familiar with the philosophy and values of supported employment.
The responsibilities include:
Develop and implement skill acquisition training plans.
Follow a program of service delivery designed to reduce individual dependency on the job coach.
Practice effective time management.
Familiarize employee with safety issues within working environment.
Identify tasks specific to a particular job.
Perform baseline assessments.
Complete on the job training when necessary.
Accompany the participant to the job site.
Document progress and incident reports on a daily basis.
Keep in regular contact with the employer and the employee.
Attend team and supervision meetings.
Perform other duties and assignments as may be required.
