Description

Great Plains College is searching for an experienced Power Engineer to instruct in our Power Engineering program. This program equips students with the skills necessary to be a successful power engineer as well as with knowledge of current industry standards.  Courses range from drafting to applied mechanics to refrigeration and thermodynamics.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate at the college level in this exciting, high-demand field, while engaging with college constituents and the oil and gas industry in western Saskatchewan.

Position Description
An Instructor is the educational leader in the classroom and will ensure that the colleges programs are implemented in a way that maximizes the adult students learning experiences.  They plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.  In addition, the instructor creates and oversees work placement programs, acts as a subject matter expert in curriculum design projects as well as liaises with professional organizations and industry partners.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate:
A commitment to the principles of adult education.
Ability to communicate effectively and cooperatively, both orally and in writing, with people from various backgrounds.
Ability to evaluate student progress.
Ability to assess students learning needs
Leadership and motivation skills.
Well-developed time management and organizational skills.

Education
Third Class Power Engineering Certificate with extensive experience
Fourth Class Power Engineering Certificate may be considered
