Description

The City of Swift Current is inviting applications for the position of Lift Station Operator in the Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Department of the Infrastructure and Operations Division.  This is a permanent full-time position and is under the direct supervision of the department's superintendent.  

The Lift Station Operator will be required to be available when assigned to stand-by and respond to after hour call-outs pertaining to problems in any area of the department operations.  Work involves the inspection, preventative maintenance and repair of all mechanical and electrical components associated with the City's sanitary sewage lift stations.  This position may be required to assist in other areas of the Infrastructure & Operations Division, in either emergency or non-emergency situations as directed by either the Superintendent or the Director of Engineering Services and Operations.

Basic Requirements:
. Completion of Grade Twelve (12);  
. Must possess and maintain a valid Class 5A Saskatchewan Driver's License;
. Possession of or ability to obtain Water Distribution and/or Wastewater Collection Certification Training as required by the Water Security Agency. (Preference will be given to candidates who have completed appropriate Certification training); and
. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and possess initiative with respect to duties and responsibilities.

. Fall Protection Training

Desirable Requirements:
. Experience in Municipal Sewage Lift Stations or related areas; and
. Training and/or experience relating to the operation, maintenance and repair of electric motors and centrifugal or submersible pumps.
The salary range for this position is $20.54 to $21.18 per hour. This position also receives Dirty Work Premium Pay of $0.60 per hour for all hours worked.
