Responsibilities include:
Perform client assessment, planning, implementation of care, and on-going evaluation of patient(s)
Administrate the medical surveillance program (annual testing/annual medicals)
Liaise with the company doctor to maintain a standing order manual
Facilitate First Aid training and other health and wellness related information sessions
Manage preventive health programs
Participate in emergency training exercises with the Emergency Response Team
Support the Radiation Protection Group with administration of the bioassay program
Provide sample collection for substance testing in support of the Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Program
Perform site-wide health inspections
Liaise with provincial health authorities as required to adequately fulfill their requirements
Administer the Direct Observed Therapy (DOT) procedure for clients with Tuberculosis
Perform sutures if certified by a doctor (RN)
Revise and create procedures and work instructions within the Integrated Quality Management System
Compile and submit monthly injury statistics reports.
Required to work independently with minimum supervision and, where necessary, take charge of situations
Must be able to make decisions under pressure
Skills and Qualifications for the position include
Registered Nurse, licensed to practice in Saskatchewan, preferably with occupational health experience and/or northern nursing experience
Spirometry, ECG, and Audiometry Certification or equivalent experience
Familiarity with Employee Family Assistance Program
Ability to assign directions to assisting ERT members
Proficient in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills
Respect for and understanding of multicultural values
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Preference will be given to qualified Residents of Saskatchewans North (RSN)
