The successful applicant will take on a key technical role on one of our project teams. These teams are involved in developing and upgrading software systems that include real-time equipment control, complex proprietary communication protocols, high-availability/scalable architectures, and graphical user interfaces. These systems run on Linux and/or Windows operating systems and are written in C++, Java or a combination of both.
Developers are tasked with solving complex, challenging problems and succeed through continual learning and the application of modern, proven technologies. Through the development and delivery of complex systems on time, on budget and containing the exact features our customers require, SED software developers are able to acquire the skill set needed to tackle sophisticated software.
The Person:
This position will be of interest to candidates with:
A four-year degree in Computer Science, or a three-year Computer Science degree combined with an Electrical Engineering or Engineering Physics degree;
A minimum of 3 years experience developing software;
Proficiency in C++ or Java; and,
The ability to integrate well into a team environment, to quickly solve complex problems, and to easily adapt to new technologies.
Experience in the following areas is considered an asset:
Developing Linux-based, high-availability, scalable server side software systems;
Developing rich client user interfaces using Java Swing or JavaFX; and,
Developing responsive systems that make use of threading.
