K3 Excavating Ltd. is a young dynamic company specializing in earthworks contracts. We are currently seeking a full time experienced Civil Engineering/Technologist to join our team as an Estimator and Project Coordinator.
Qualifications:
- P.Eng, Undergraduate Degree (E.I.T.) or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
- Eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists/the Association of Applied Science Technologists of Saskatchewan
- Current class 5 Driver's License
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer skills, including Excel and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Ability to readily determine the correct tools and equipment for a project
- Knowledge of industry practices and pricing
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with projects involving civil earthworks, underground and surface utilities
- Working with geotechnical reports, technical writing (including specifications, scope of work, contract documents), quantity take-offs, cost estimating
- Prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of full cost estimates on conceptual,design-build or general tender work
- Prepare materials, labour and equipment cost estimations necessary to successfully carry out a construction project according to proposals, plans estimates and specifications.
- Attend work sites to give direction and assist project superintendents in site management and carrying out job to completion
- Present estimates, consult with, and conduct review meetings with clients
- Prepare and maintain lists of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
- Establish unit costs, labour rates and productivity factors
- Contract administration including site reports, change orders
- Evaluate and recommend allowances for indirect costs, design unknowns, escalation and contingency
- Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
