Description

SaskCanola is a provincial grower organization operating under the auspices of the Agri-Food Act and funded by a mandatory/refundable check-off on canola production.

The province of Saskatchewan is the largest producer of canola in Canada and Saskatchewan farmers, on average, produce 50% of the annual Canadian production.  SaskCanola collaborates with the Canola Council of Canada, other provincial canola commissions, governments and the canola value chain in carrying out its mission to optimize canola producers competitiveness and profitability through research, market development, extension and policy development.

The Executive Director is responsible for the overall operations of SaskCanola, including the implementation of the strategic plan, annual business plans, and operational policies and procedures as approved by the Board.
Interested individuals should have knowledge of agricultural research, market development and marketing. Demonstrated skills in communications, business administration, project management and organizational leadership are also required. An individual with broad contacts and relationships in the farming and agricultural research and business communities is desirable. Experience working with a volunteer board is also an asset.
