Technical Skills:
- Proficient skills required in Excel/Microsoft Word/Power point & Data entry
- Excellent writing skills for reports/discharge summaries/daily reports
- Certified with either: CCPC, CACCF, FNWAC or SASW or be eligible for certification (with appropriate education and experience).
- Certificate or Diploma in Addictions, Chemical Dependency and experience in working with youth, minimum of two years experience working in an addictions facility, supervisory experience and skills, experience in addiction counseling, group facilitation, public presentations, experience and knowledge of assessments, treatment planning, intake/discharge process, respect and sensitivity to First Nations culture and traditions. Must have a valid driver?s license, CPIC and Child Abuse Registry check. Applicants must also lead an addictions free lifestyle & promote their own wellness and an interest in promoting First Nations cultural based programming. Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proven reliability and the ability to work in a team
Duties:
- Overall daily supervision of youth; facilitate individual counseling sessions with youth; assist in creating and maintaining a therapeutic care plan for their primary clients. Develop & facilitate treatment programming group counseling sessions with all youth. Establish working relationships with: family members, workers, etc. to communicate youth progress, issues, aftercare initiatives, etc.. Document all pertinent information in client files. Ensure primary clients knows and acknowledges the rules and guidelines of Leading Thunderbird Lodge. Devise and implement extra curricular activites that interest clients and enhance skills.
