Description

The Saskatchewan Association for Community Living (SACL) is a vibrant not-for-profit organization advocating for individuals with intellectual disabilities in Saskatchewan. The SACL is seeking a Manager of Advocacy for the Prince Albert Region to work with our team of dedicated professionals to ensure that citizens of Saskatchewan who have intellectual disabilities are full, active and valued members of society.

Duties and Responsibilities
Individual Advocacy Support
Provides support and act as an advocate and resource to individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families.
Attend meetings with individuals and families.
Engage with individuals and their families to identify and articulate needs and support requirements.
Works within a supportive team environment.

Systemic Advocacy
Participates in committees, public awareness presentations, training events and other activities as assigned.
Engage in community-based research including report writing.
Make recommendations for systemic changes (process and policies) across service delivery for people with intellectual disabilities

Requirements
Post-secondary education in the Social Sciences and/or significant experience working for a non-profit organization.
Advocacy experience.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
The ability to work independently within a team toward organizational goals.
A valid drivers license.
A criminal record check including a vulnerable sector check.

The ability to work with individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families as well as navigate complex service systems (Health, Justice, Social Services) is critical to the position.
