About the Opportunity
In this role, you will be assisting skilled trade's persons and perform labouring activities at construction sites such as buildings, structures and premises, including: municipal sewer and water plants, roads, dams, bridges, canals and demolition sites.
Some of your day to day responsibilities will include:
Complete tasks as assigned in a manner instructed by the Lead Hand Labourer, Foreman or Site Superintendent.
Handle and distribute construction materials (for example, load and unload vehicles with supplies, equipment and construction materials; move tools, equipment and construction materials to and from work area).
Demolition of structures using jack hammer, prying bars and other tools and sort, clean and pile or remove salvaged materials and debris.
Work with various surveying equipment such as transits and total stations for elevation, grades and slopes for industrial construction and road work.
Use and maintain tools and equipment such as air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment.
