The Housing / Public Works Clerk is a program support position, supervised on a daily basis by the Housing / Infrastructure Coordinator with overall accountability to the Director of Operations. He / She would be responsible for all clerical aspects of the Housing / Public Works program.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Possess a minimum Grade 12 and at least 1 year of technical training in the clerical field with 1 year of practical experience.
Possess considerable knowledge of effective office procedures, techniques, and data processing.
Be of a pleasant, professional manner as well as being punctual, reliable and ensure that confidential matters remain confidential.
Possess the ability to type a minimum of 40 w.p.m. and be able to operate a computer with word processing, spread sheet and data base applications.
Possess the ability to be well organized.
Possess excellent communication skills both oral and written to deal effectively with external funding agencies, fellow employees, Band Membership, the General Public and Leadership.
Be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and possess excellent time management skills.
Possess the ability to take direction and work with minimum supervision.
Possess basic writing skills and be prepared to draft correspondence, memos, etc.
A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle would be an asset.
